New 3D printed electronics and accessories offer glimpse of future

3D printing technology has a lot to offer to the world of electronics and accessories. A 3D printing company is selling intricate mobile accessories while another has created a camera.

With the recent release of the iPhone 5, one 3D printing firm has capitalized by creating  cases to complement mobile phones. The company's iPhone and Droid cases are printed layer by layer and are both durable and soft, according to Nasdaq. The company also prints accessories for tablets.

Not only are the 3D printed cases interesting, but they offer customization. Cases can be personalized with the addition of text chosen by the buyer.

Recently, a 3D printing company managed to print a DSLR camera, signifying future potential for practical applications of the technology, according to WebProNews. Although the DSLR camera doesn't work, its 3D printed body and zoom lens are proof of possibility. The company reported to Fabbaloo that dials and optics will one day be 3D printed.

3D printing offers consumers the ability to print all sorts of devices from their own homes, including electronics and accessories. If they are, it may be possible to have a complete 3D printed camera.
